George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin Engaged: [UPDATE] ‘The Monuments Men’ Actor To Wed British Lawyer Girlfriend By September

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's recently got engaged but their wedding is already set reportedly for September, or a year to the day after they first met during a charity event last year.

A source told MailOnline that despite George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's recent engagement, their wedding will definitely push through in less than five months "if all goes as they are planning.

As it turned out, not everything was handed down easily for the famous bachelor as "The Monuments Men" actor and director "asked her out three times before she finally agreed," the site added.

Because of the conservative upbringing of the British lawyer, she even had to ask her parents about what they think of her going out with George Clooney. When he proposed to her, they went to Dubai in March to visit with her siblings and father, Ramzi, as Amal Alamuddin's mother, Baria, already met her fiancé several times.

The trip of the now engaged George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin was seen as a show of respect for the very traditional father of the celebrated barrister. His efforts paid off as he managed to convince her dad that he is the right man for his lovely daughter but it's not his fame and money that did it. Amal Alamuddin's dad "is definitely more impressed with Clooney's political and humanitarian involvement than he is with his fame and wealth."

Before the big George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin wedding, however, the couple makes sure to have time for each other.

On Thursday, as People reported, the newly engaged George Clooney and Amal Alamudding flew to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico on a private jet to attend the wedding of Thom Mathews, a close friend of the actor.

The pair isn't a first-time visitor to the tourist destination as they were in Cabo last year during the holidays with former supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber.
