Rain's Role In Hollywood Movie, 'The Prince' Will First Be Seen At Cannes Film Festival

Singer and actor Rain's first movie since being discharged from the army will be, "The Prince." The Hollywood movie will be revealed at the 67th Cannes Film Festival.

Rain was cast in "The Prince" soon after being discharged from the army last year.

The highly-anticipated film will be revealed at the French film festival to various overseas movie officials. 

Rain has appeared in other foreign movies including "Speed Racer" in 2008 and "Ninja Assassin" in 2009.

This is his first time appearing in a Hollywood movie in 5 years. The actor and singer is gaining a lot of attention for his role as this is the first time he's playing a villain in a production. 

"The Prince," which is an action thriller, will feature other stars including Bruce Willis, John Cusak, Fifty Cent and more.

Rain is also currently busy filming a Chinese movie that will release this November. He is still debating on which drama role to take on for the future as well. 

Fans are beyong excited to know that they will be able to see Rain in various Korean, U.S. and Chinese productions throughout 2014. 

Although Rain has been focusing on his acting career as of late, the Korean singer has yet to let go of his music. 

Back in March, Rain received an award for the most influential overseas artist from a Chinese online music service, according to Yonhap News. 

During the QQ Music Awards, Rain performed two of his latest songs after receiving the biggest award of the night. 

The QQ Music Awards is an awards ceremony hosted by China's music site QQ Music, which has hundred of millions of members. 

Rain also held a concert at the National Stadium in Beijing that month, performing hits from "Rain Effect" his first album in nearly four years. 

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, reportedly served as an "entertainment soldier" for a unit that promotes the military during his service, according to BBC News. 

When the "It's Raining" hitmaker was being discharged, he greeted fans by saying, "Thank you all for coming to welcome me. I'll do my best. I love you all."
