Nightclubbing in Seoul, K-Drama Style

The club that Lee Bum Soo visits in "Triangle," looks a lot like the popular Seoul club NB (Noise Basement) that's located in Gangnam. And it could also be the location for the club scene in "You're Surrounded," where Lee Seung Gi and his fellow rookie detectives go undercover to find female con artists.

Even if those scenes were not filmed there, NB is still one of the most popular clubs in Seoul and well worth the visit. It's also a great place to see just what Psy was singing about in "Gangnam Style". A well-heeled crowd frequents the club. And, yes you may expect to see someone wearing Christian Louboutin heels there, although probably not using them as a weapon, as a character did in "You're Surrounded."

The real NB club has two bars, a large dance floor and a VIP room.

NB is different than many other clubs in Seoul in that it plays a more eclectic blend of sounds. As YG Entertainment, which produces Big Bang, Psy, Epik High, and 2NE1, owns the NB clubs, the disc jockeys play K-Pop, but favors YG produced K-Pop. They also play electro techno music and hip-hop mixed in with the more commercial stuff. It's a vivid musical mix and the dance floor is usually lively. The Gangnam branch is located at 1308-4 Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu in Seoul.

For more information on prices, the crowd and the music you can expect to hear, visit https://clubnb.com/ or call 010-8724-5505.
To get there, the closest subway stop to the club is Gangnam Station. Take Line 2 and leave the station by Exit 5

There's a second NB club in Hongdae, near plenty of music venues and right across the street from the Eat Your Kimchi Studios. That club is located at 361-10 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu in Seoul.

Both clubs charge a cover.
