Filipino MMA Fighter Tapped Out To Save Opponent From Brutal Beatdown! ‘I Felt Terrible So I Gave Him The Win,’ Says Combatant [Find Out Why Here]

A Filipino Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Fighter named Mike Pantango tapped out on the first round of his Prison City Fight League in Michigan not because he was being held on a submission move but because he was beating the hell out of his opponent.

Yes, he was winning and in the most favorable way. In the video attached below, you can see how Pantango has been beating his opponent named Jeremy Rasner by throwing vicious kicks, elbows and punches but suddenly stopped and went down on the floor and tapped to end the match and give his opponent the win.

Pantango said after the match that the reason why he did this was to stop any further injuries that he might cause to his opponent and he didn’t mind getting a loss record since they were fighting for an amateur league and wasn’t getting paid anyway.

“I am sorry for all you guys think I did him wrong or disrespected him,” Pantangco said as quoted by Conner O’Brien of The Courier-Mail. “But guys (we’re amateur) fighters. We don’t get paid and if I would keep going I would’ve hurt him more and maybe he gets serious injuries and maybe that will make him stop doing what he loves to do.”

He may have won the hearts of people around the globe but he wasn’t able to grab a win for the match.

The two fighters later were revealed to not undergo any training or any preparation for their match, which caused Rasner to not move and take all the blows throughout the match.

“I just feel that there’s no point in fighting him because he didn’t train against me and I didn’t train for him,” the fighter said.

Manny Pacquiao, also a Filipino though not an MMA Fighter, was also seen with this kind of sportsmanship during his past match with Antonio Margarito, where he stopped hitting on the last two rounds to prevent further damage after racking up enough points in the previous rounds.
