Ha Ji Won States: “Fox Waited for Me to Speak about Hollywood Debut”

South Korean actress Ha Ji Won grasped the hearts of fans with her performance on the MBC drama "Empress Ki," which led the drama to success.

The actress met with the president of 20th Century Fox, Jeffrey Godsick, on May 14 to discuss plans for her future Hollywood debut.

"Ha Ji Won and Godsick met to discuss her potential debut in Hollywood. They were in full consideration of Ha Ji Won's busy schedule, and the meeting went well," stated sources.

Sources added, "The actress is currently preparing for her Hollywood debut. There is no confirmed work, but a few have been discussed."

Another meeting is reportedly scheduled to be held after the actress finishes shooting the Korean film "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant," according to MSN Entertainment XIN.

"Ha is expected to get positive feedback on the world stage since she has the ability to pull off fierce action scenes in addition to her good acting skills," stated an industry insider.

Ha Ji Won, who is known for choosing roles that are physically demanding, will begin filming "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant," which will be directed by actor Ha Jung-woo, next month.

The 35-year-old actress, who doesn't look her age at all, made her debut back in 1996 with a small role in the teen drama "Adults Don't Know."

She continued her career with supporting roles; her big break was in the film "Truth Game," which won her 2 Best Actress Awards.

After starring in several films, Ha took on the lead roles in several Korean dramas. She was recognized for her performance in the Korean drama "What Happened in Bali" alongside Cho In-sung.

Ha won the Best Actress Award in the 2004 SBS Drama Awards for her intense role in the drama.

She also won the Grand Prize during the 2006 KBS Drama Awards for her performance in "Hwang Jini."
