Justin Bieber's racist joke demanded an apology and Selena Gomez's ex did just that as the young performer released a statement claiming that he didn't understand that certain words can hurt. Meanwhile, his former bodyguard came to his defense saying the Canadian is not racist just a "bad joke teller."

Following the Justin Bieber scandal, the troubled teenager released a statement as published by E! News saying:

"As a young man, I didn't understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt. I thought it was ok to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn't realize at the time that it wasn't funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance,

"Thanks to friends and family I learned from my mistakes and grew up and apologized for those wrongs. Now that these mistakes from the past have become public I need to apologize again to all those I have offended. I'm very sorry," it said.

Following the Justin Bieber's racist joke, he said that ignorance has no place in society, which he learned as he becomes a man.

"Five years ago I made a reckless and immature mistake and i'm (sic) grateful to those close to me who helped me learn those lessons as a young man. Once again ... I'm sorry," the statement added addressing the Justin Bieber racist joke.

The new Justin Bieber scandal blew over when the video of him telling a n----r joke during the Never Say Never tour. 

However, Kenny Hamilton, former bodyguard of the singer, told TMZ that the Justin Bieber racist joke is nothing more than a kid trying to tell a bad punchline.

"We all make jokes about people's size, look, or race. That doesn't mean it's right but comedians make millions of dollars profiting off these jokes," he said over all the criticisms surrounding the Justin Bieber scandal.

"As a black man I am telling the world that @justinbieber is not a racist. I have known him since he was 12 years old and I know his heart," he tweeted.
