U-KISS Eli's Twitter Gets Hacked Again

Many idols use Twitter, Instagram, and other SNS to communicate with fans, but sometimes fans get greedy. On June 3, U-KISS's Eli Tweeted that his Twitter account was hacked.

His message was short and to the point: "Someone hacked my twitter again..... starting to get annoying...."

Based on his wording, this isn't the first time that Eli's Twitter account has been hacked and he is losing patience with these hackers.

Numerous idols have suffered from fake accounts claiming to be original, and several have been hacked.

Super Junior member Eunhyuk's Twitter account was hacked by someone twice in one day, who posted porn on the account. The hacker also broke into fellow Super Junior member Sungmin's Cyworld account, and was eventually arrested. The hacker turned out to be a high school student.

While any evidence of a hacker on Eli's account has been deleted, it is still unfair, and illegal, for sasaeng fans and anti-fans to invade the privacy of K-Pop idols.

SNS accounts are favored by idols to talk directly to their fans, but there have been cases where idols delete their accounts due to hacking- JYJ's Jaejoong deleted his Twitter account after being hacked.

U-KISS recently released their latest song, "Quit Playing," and Eli was promoting that song and music video on his Twitter account prior to the pronouncement that he was hacked. Hopefully the hacker won't try again, since Eli and U-KISS are in the midst of an important promotional cycle and the stress of something like this can't possibly help the grueling lifestyle of idols.

As one of the more prominent idol Twitter users, especially since he Tweets in English much of the time, it is unfortunate that Eli's account was hacked.

Hopefully something like this won't happen again, since Eli may feel that fans are trying to take advantage of him and may even consider deleting his account.
