Group Boyfriend Holds Successful Japan Solo Concert Before Korea Comeback

Idol group Boyfriend successfully finished their solo concert, "BOYFRIEND LOVE COMMUNICATION 2014 START UP," which was held in Japan from May 31 to June 1.

The group is currently preparing for their highly anticipated comeback in Korea, which will be happening in June. 

The concert was held at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall. During the course of their live concert, each of the members held solo performances as well, gaining immense popularity from their fans.

Donghyun sang "Give Me the Light" while Jeongmin played the piano along to his own song.

"Thank you to all the fans that came out and supported us at our Japan concert. We will continue to show our best in Korea," wrote the members on Twitter on June 2 to the 10,000 fans that were able to attend their recent concert.

Boyfriend released their 5th single in Japan titled "Start Up!" on May 28.  The group first debuted in Japan back in 2012 and ranked No. 1 on the Oricon chart, further creating a solid fan base.

The six-member group will be making their comeback in a year and five months with their second mini-album "Obsession" on June 9 and will be performing their first comeback stage on "M! Countdown" on June 5, according to Allkpop.

The boy band recently released a teaser for their upcoming track "Obsession." As seen from the black and white comeback photos that were released, the group is going for a more upgraded, charismatic image.

Boyfriend, which includes Kim Donghyun, Shim Hyunseong, Lee Jeongmin, Jo Youngmin, Jo Kwangmin and No Minwoo, debuted in 2011, They made their debut performance on Mnet's "M! Countdown" on May 26, 2011 with their debut single "Boyfriend."

Three years since their debut, the group has been performing successfully internationally. Boyfriend recently wrapped up their solo concert in Puerto Rico, becoming the first K-Pop group to hold a concert there.
