Evan Rachel Wood Sued Over ’10 Things I Hate About You’ Sequel; $30 Million Suit Mere ‘Bullying Tactic?’

Evan Rachel Wood was sued after reportedly ditching "10 Things I Hate About You" sequel as her rep called the $30 million suit as a "bullying tactic" by the studio.

According to the documents obtained by E! News, Evan Rachel Wood was sued by the producer of "10 Things I Hate About Life," billed as the sequel to the cult classic "10 Things I Hate About You," starring the late Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon Love-Hewitt.

The producer claimed that Evan Rachel Wood already collected the $300,000 advance before ditching the project. In claiming damages, the plaintiff wants "The Wrestler" actress to pay up $20 million in lost profits, $6 million in lost investments, $5 million in damages as well as $500,000 in lost financing cost.

After Evan Rachel Wood was sued a rep for the actress released a statement claiming that the production studio is now resorting to bullying tactics.

"The lawsuit is preposterous and simply a bullying tactic from financially troubled producers," the statement said as published on Deadline. "The production shut down in February 2013 when the producers ran out of money."

The rep then added that Evan Rachel Wood agreed to resume shooting when the producers managed to raise money in November 2013.

"However, the producers still could not get their act together, nor did they pay Evan money that was owed," it said. "Repeated subsequent promises by the producers to resume production and pay Evan also turned out to be false. Enough is enough. The producers, not Evan, have breached contract."

However, the plaintiff's lawsuit claimed that it was Evan Rachel Wood who told them that she wouldn't be available for filming until November 2013 for "personal reasons" when they were ready to film before then.

The 10 Things Films claimed breach of written agreement and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, E! News reported.
