U.S. Billboard Spotlights EXO As Being A Global Sensation With Their Song, 'Overdose'

Global sensation EXO has been making it big since their debut back in 2011.

U.S. Billboard published an article on June 6 about the "Most Viewed K-Pop Videos in America VS Around the World: May 2014," revealing the top 10 most viewed K-Pop videos of May.

The chart showed that EXO-K's "Overdose" Korean version was ranked No. 1 while EXO-M's "Overdose" Chinese version was ranked at No. 2.

"EXO has started a global sensation with their song, 'Overdose,' with many fans constantly watching their music videos," wrote Billboard.

The music video for "Overdose" was released last month on May 7 on the official SMTOWN YouTube channel and official Facebook page and has since received an overwhelming amount of views and attention.

The boy group's accomplishments don't stop there. EXO was also ranked the highest K-Pop male artist on the "Billboard 200" chart as well. EXO will be holding their "EXO FROM. EXOPLANET #1 - THE LOST PLANET IN WUHAN" concert on June 15.

The group participated in the "Dream Concert 2014" which was held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on June 7, according to the Korea Herald.

EXO performed two of their hit songs "Growl" and "Overdose" in front of 40,000 K-Pop fans. They performed alongside other K-Pop sensations including SNSD, BEAST, 4minute, BTOB, A pink, B1A4, Girl's Day, T-ara, VIXX, U-KISS, Rainbow, Dal Shabet, Z:EA and GOT7.

Despite their continuous success, the group was recently hit by a scandal with their fellow EXO member Kris suing SM Entertainment to nullify his exclusive contract, according to Billboard.

Before their May 25 concert, the group held a press conference to address the issues as well as their future plans regarding their tour.

"Honestly, when we first heard the news [about Kris' departure] we were extremely flustered. But our biggest concern was about putting on a high-quality, perfect performance for our fans. We united as a whole and used that energy to put in extensive hours of practice and rehearsals to make a perfect performance," stated Baekyun.

The singer added, "We want to take this time to thank our staff members who made it possible for us to make this show happen. I am proud of our members for coming together as one."
