Japan Media Reveals Former KARA Member Kang Jiyoung To Make Comeback As An Actress

Former KARA member Kang Jiyoung will reportedly be making a comeback in Japan as an actress.

A Japanese weekly magazine reported on June 10 that the former idol member will begin her acting career in Japan beginning this fall.

"Having left for London in April to study abroad, Kang Jiyoung will resume her activities this fall. She is currently discussing her new contract with a Japanese agency, Sweet Power," wrote the magazine.

The agency, Sweet Power, is known for housing Japan's top actresses, including Meisa Kuroki, Maki Horikita, Mirei Kiritani and more, according to Yahoo Celebrity Philippines.

Korean actress Kim Tae Hee is currently working with the entertainment company as well.

The CEO of Sweet Power reportedly flew to London to meet directly with Kang Jiyoung to discuss her future in acting.

"Kang Jiyoung has dreamed of becoming an actress. The head of Sweet Power came all the way to London to meet her and consult about her future. Kang will make a comeback as an actress in Japan this year," stated a source to the Japanese magazine.

Kang completed her contract under KARA on April 5 and left the group to continue with her studies abroad. Former member Jung Nicole, left the group when her contract expired with DSP Media as well.

The now three-member group, which includes Park Gyu-ri, Goo Ha-ra and Han Seung-yeon, are looking to add new members to the group, according to Channel News Asia.

New members will be found through the reality television show "Kara Project," which has begun airing in Korea.

The television program gives viewers a look at the personal lives of the trainees as well as their training process, as they compete to become the new members of the group.

The members of KARA have apologized for the difficult time their fans are experiencing along with the changes the group is currently undergoing.

"Things I want to say. Things I want to clear up. Things I want to say in comfort. There are so many of them, but it's not easy to solve everything through text. Once again, that meaning got retranslated and became another scar, making it hard for my people," wrote Park Gyu-ri on her Twitter account.

She added, "Our Kamilias are always getting hurt. I'm sorry."
