Reaction Abroad Of Psy's 'Hangover', "Awesome Collaboration Vs. Childish"

World star Psy's new music video for his single "Hangover" is making it big on YouTube, following his hit "Gangnam Style."

Psy's music video was released at 8:15 AM (Korean standard time) and hit over 20,000,000 views. After 9:30AM, only an hour and fifteen minutes since its release, the video had 50,000,000 views.

As of 1:40PM KST on June 10, the video had 83,900,000 views, reaching 100,000,000 views by the end of the day.

The viewers of "Hangover" commented stating that, "The MV is beautiful" and that "The two [Snoop Dogg and Psy] are good together." Others also commented that, "The melody is addicting."

Although the video has generally been receiving positive reviews, with TIME calling the outrageous music video "art," the 5-minute clip has been receiving its fair share of negative responses as well.

Some users stated, "I don't know what they're saying" and "Don't understand their intent." One YouTube user commented that the video is simply "childish."

Psy's decision to feature Snoop Dogg was received positively.

"Snoop Dogg will raise viewership," stated one viewer, while another said, "The collaboration is fantastic."

Other users felt that Snoop Dogg's presence in the music video held Psy back.

"It's as if Psy is featured on Snoop Dogg's MV," stated one user while another simply stated "I don't even get why Snoop Dogg was featured."

International news outlets praised the creativity and craziness of the MV.

"Psy is a Korean artist that touched the world with his music," wrote a U.S. article.

Billboard commented on the "hilarious" details of the MV, including the "domino of drinks, wild karaoke, Kung Fu in billiards, upbeat music."

England's Telegraph also published an article explaining the phenomenon of "Hangover," and referring back to the success of Psy's hit "Gangnam Style."

The overwhelming response on YouTube has been described as "amazing" thus far, despite the "obvious split between the viewers."

Viewers noted that the popularity of Psy's single "Gentlemen" went through a similar pattern as that of "Hangover."
