K-pop sensation Psy confessed that he is "hungover half of the year" during an interview with Billboard.

Psy stated that after listening to the chorus of the song, he immediately thought of Snoop Dogg. On June 10, Billboard posted an article under the title, "'Heavy drinker' Psy knew Snoop Dogg was perfect for "HANGOVER"".

Billboard stated that "boozing it up" is one of Psy's expertise. Psy stated: "Yes, I'm a heavy drinker... I can honestly say [I'm hungover] half of the year". Billboard claimed that Psy's "affinity for having a drink (or two or three or four...) has proven to be excelled song-fodder, with the explosive success right out of the gate for new single "Hangover", featuring Snoop Dogg. The song's MV has attracted more than 25 million views on Youtube.

In the interview, Psy stated: "One day I wrote a hip-hop track and I thought about one catchy word,. I was hungover and I thought about hangover, so I just recorded it right away. As soon as I got that hook part I thought about Snoop Dogg, because we all know he's hanging over every day."

Psy also stated that he cannot beat his most popular song, "Gangnam Style", forever: "How can I beat a song that has 2 billion views?"

Meanwhile, the MV of Psy's "HANGOVER" currently exceeded 28 million views, going explosively viral on the internet.
