BBC Announces Doctor Who Season 8 World Tour, Releases Teaser Trailer [VIDEO]

The BBC has finally confirmed that the long awaited Series 8 of "Doctor Who" will be coming out in August, and has released the first teaser trailer, and announced a world tour. You can also see the full length trailer here.

But for most fans this is already old news. The short teaser shows Capaldi in an exploding Tardis, suggesting the redesign that comes with every new incarnation of the doctor. While its only fifteen seconds long, its the most rabid fans will get until the August release.

At the Hay Festival Moffatt said  "We haven't made much of change to 'Doctor Who' since it came back in 2005. It's been the same show. It's maybe amped some things up and lowered some other things, but it's basically the same." Going on to say of his decision to cast Capaldi, "I just felt it needs to be a bit more different now. It's needs to be surprising again!"

The trailer has been released in conjunction with a first ever "Doctor Who" world tour, starting August 7th in the UK, and ending in Brazil on August 19th. Capaldi, and Coleman will be going to seven cities on five continents to promote the show. Moffat will also be attending some of the events, depending on his schedule.  It is the largest promotional tour ever associated with "Doctor Who," in large part stimulated by the record breaking international ratings received by the 50th Anniversary special.

Capaldi said of the impending tour, "After eight months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans."
