Alex Trebek Sets Guinness World Record For Hosting Game Shows, Has Asked an Astounding 416,569 Questions [VIDEO]

Who has hosted the most game shows of any man alive? Answers in the form of a question. This past Friday Alex Trebek set a world record after hosting his 6,829th episode of "Jeopordy." Trebek, 73, has been hosting"Jeapordy" since 1983, and has asked a astounding 416,569 questions in that time. Not counting chit chat questions at the beginning of the show.  No one has attempted to count how many time he has said his famous catchphrase, "Good for you."

"The record can, could and probably will be broken by someone else," Trebek said, according to ABC News.

"I want to continue for a few more years," he said, going on to admit, it "is the kind of record that can be replaced."

Trebek is likely refering to Pat Sajak, who hosts Wheel of Fortune. Sajak, who is 67, is younger and may be the one to break Trebek's record. Trebek, who has had two minor heart attacks, and snapped his Achillies tendon chasing a robber in 2011, has no plans for slowing down.

"The good news is as long as I keep hosting the program, I stay ahead of whoever's in second place and that makes me feel good," Trebek added.

Trebek has been a pop culture staple for decades, parodied in a long running SNL skit where Sean Connery would play celebrity Jeopordy and yell, "Suck it Trebek."

The Canadian born announcer got his start in news, and hosted several other game shows before settling in to the role for which he is best known. The iconic game show host will likely be retiring after the 2015 season. There is no word as to who may be replacing him.
