Actor Lee Jun Ki is steadily on the rise in China.

Lee Jun Ki thanked his fans for all their support on June 20 after he hit 14 million followers on China's Weibo.

Lee's popularity in China has skyrocketed through his fan meetings and appearance on various Chinese variety shows.

The 32-year-old's fans in China have gone as far as revealing a huge LED bus to promote his new drama, titled "Joseon's Gunman," which will air on June 25.

KBS-2 recently revealed images for the new drama, which stars Lee Jun Ki, Nam Sang-mi, Jun Hae-bin, Han Joo-wan and Yoo Oh-sung.

Lee Jun Ki will be playing Park Yoon-gang, also known as the "gunman with a knife," according to the Korea Herald.

His character wants to follow in his father's footsteps and become the top swordsman, but due to the "time of the enlightment," Park must learn how to use a gun and give up wielding his sword.

The cast of the period drama made an appearance on KBS 2TV's "Entertainment Relay," where they shared their experience working with each other, as well as their thoughts on their new project, according to Allkpop.

When the reporter asked how Lee Jun Ki's life has changed through "Joseon Gunman," the actor stated, "I feel like I'm living during the Joseon Dynasty. I like it. How often do I get the chance to meet such pretty and cool people anyways."

His female co-stars playfully disagreed with Lee's sugarcoated statement.

Lee added, "My 'dating dna' (a phrase meaning being good at or inclined to dating as if it was a part of your dna) has died so the things I cannot do in my reality I will fulfill my desire through this drama."

Actress Nam Sang Mi spoke of her onscreen reunion with Lee Jun Ki in seven years.

"I think [Lee Jun Ki] became cuter after returning from the military. He jokes around a lot and it kind of feels like we became brother and sister," stated Nam.

Lee added, "When I arrived on set, we were able to get comfortable with each other like longtime lovers."
