JYJ To Launch Asia Tour This Summer For New Album Comeback

Popular Korean idol group JYJ is giving fans something to look forward to later this summer.

JYJ - which stands for the members' names: Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu - are one of South Korea's hottest music acts despite the limited number of album releases since the group's formation in 2010. And now they are planning to visit their dedicated fans across the globe through an Asian tour set to kick off in August.

According to a statement released by their agency, C-JeS Entertainment, on June 25 (KST), the tour will kick off on August 9 in Seoul and run through the latter half of the year.

"JYJ plans to meet 40,000 fans at the Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on August 9. This will be their first concert in four years since their concert in November 2010, which brought in a total of 70,000 fans over two nights," revealed C-JeS.

The statement continued, "Starting with their Seoul concert at Olympic Stadium this August, they plan to go on an Asia tour. As fans have waited a long time for JYJ's comeback, they plan to meet fans as they go from city to city in Asia in the latter half of this year."

Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun also expressed their excitement for the upcoming tour in a joint statement, saying, "We are thrilled at the thought of meeting fans through JYJ's album and concert for the first time in a long time. We are joyful and happy just from recording music with our members."

They also added, "We will repay our fans' love with a feel-good album and concert."

The group's upcoming new album will be their first release together since 2011. The individual members have been exploring their own paths for the last couple years with Yoochun focusing on his acting career and both Jaejoong and Junsu having released chart-topping solo albums.

JYJ plans to make an official comeback as a full group next month with a new album.
