Algeria's rather surprising win against the South Korean team (4-2) is certainly a boost in confidence as they head onto the field. According to the New York Times, Algeria has 53% chance of advancing while Russia 45%. Which is to say that if they want to advance, they have to fight for a victory in this game. But for Algeria, a draw may be just enough, unless South Korea scores and wins big against Belgium. Belgium has already qualified, which means that Algeria, Russia and South Korea are squabbling to get into that envied second slot in group H.

Fabio Capello, the coach of the Russian national team told AP, ''We have no other option than to go out and beat Algeria".

While South Korea is still in the running, it chances of advancing are dismally low. The New York Times reports that the currently the only remaining Asian country in the World Cup has measly 2% chance of advancing. It not only will have to score big against the Belgians, but also pray that Russia wins against Algeria, but scores small.
