Leeteuk Receives “Leeteuk Forest” With 300 Trees From Fans

Super Junior member Leeteuk recently celebrated his 32nd birthday.

The idol member's fans gave him the ultimate gift to celebrate his birthday and upcoming discharge from the army by naming a forest after him.

His fans formed a fan union called "United Under Leeteuk," then began the process of naming the forest with Tree Planet in March. Fans willingly donated to the meaningful project, and the union ultimately ended up collecting about $6,500.

"We're glad to donate for such a great cause under Leeteuk's name. We know it will be a meaningful gift for Leeteuk, as it is a result of the fans' hearts. We hope this forest will be a good resting place for many," the singer's fans stated.

The "Leeteuk Forest" is a plot of land in the Mapo district and will contribute to reducing noise within the city, providing rest to tired city-dwellers. There are currently 300 trees planted in "Leeteuk Forest."

Leeteuk is scheduled to be discharged from his military service on July 29.

Along with news of Leeteuk's return from the army, SM Entertainment has announced that Super Junior will be making a comeback in the near future.

"When Leeteuk is discharged on the 29th, we're planning to work as fast as possible. We're already recording bit by bit. Super Junior's new album will be out in the fall," stated a rep from SM Entertainment.

It has been two years since Super Junior released a full-length album, according to Allkpop.

Fellow member Yesung will reportedly not be participating in the new album because he is still carrying out his military service.

There are rumors that Shindong may not be able to involved in the upcoming comeback album because he is due to serve in the army soon as well.

"The exact date for his enlistment has not been set yet. Both fans and members hope Shindong will enlist after Leeteuk is discharged so they can promote the seventh album together," stated a broadcast insider.
