‘Community’ Season 6 Returns At Yahoo Screen; Former NBC Sitcom Unfit In New Home?

"Community" season 6 is all set for its return as Yahoo Screen revived the former NBC series. However, a report is skeptic as to whether the show is fit in its new home.

In an article by The Hollywood Reporter, it was reported that the entire cast would be back for "Community" season 6 in Yahoo Screen. This includes Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. Showrunner Dan Harmon and executive producers Chris McKenna, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster will also come back to the show.

Sonny Picture Television President of Programming and Production Zack Van Amburg said that with "Community" season 6 now in Yahoo Screen, the show is set to provide a "fantastic season."

"The fans spoke and we listened," Van Amburg was quoted saying. "Thanks to Yahoo, and the amazing team that makes Community great, we've avoided the Darkest Timeline yet again and plan to deliver a fantastic season."

Showrunner Dan Harmon also made a confirmation through a statement that "Community" season 6 is now in Yahoo Screen.

"I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!," he said.

The excitement over the show's revival continued on to cast Joel McHale, who went on to thank Sony, Yahoo, Dan Harmon and the show's fans.

"Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It's the internet. We can swear now," he said.

But a report published in salon.com claims that "Community" season 6 is unfit for Yahoo Screen stating that "the cult comedy won't work on thee most confusing video site on the web."

The same report continued on to say: “Until the next season of ‘Community,’ there’s no reason to visit Yahoo Screen. That is, unless one is a Katie Couric superfan (she’s the website’s new ‘Global Anchor,’ whatever that means, but), an ‘SNL’ junkie, or someone who loves YouTube but finds that website too confusing.”
