KpopStarz' Poll to Select Best K-Pop Song and Singer Draws in 1.3 Million Fans Worldwide

KpopStarz conducted a survey with the theme "Fans Select The Best K-Pop Song and Singer in The First Half of 2012", with three branching questions over the course of three weeks.

From June 10th to June 16th, the question asked was 'Select the Best K-Pop Song and Singer in the First Half of 2012'. Wonder Girls took the crown home with their song 'DJ is Mine'. Wonder Girls' 'DJ is Mine' is a single released by K-Pop artists which features School Gyrls on January 12 through iTunes and various music sites in Korea. This song received 32.6% of the votes, mostly from US and other international fans.
The second poll that took place between June 17th through June 23rd asked the question 'Which Male & Female Group Expanded Their Influence the Most Globally During the First Half of 2012'. This time TVXQ came in first place with 12.5% of the votes. Though TVQX had conducted less world-wide promotions compared to some leaders of K-Pop sensation, they had pulled in 550,000 attendees to their tour "Live Tour 2012: Tone" in Japan, the world's second biggest music market. TVQX also became the first foreign artist ever to have 10 single to rank #1 in the Oricon's 45 year history as their single "STILL" released on March 14 ranked first on Oricon weekly chart. Their unbelievable chart records can be said to have globally influenced the music industry.
The final poll taken during the time frame of June 24th to June 30st was very intricately planned. Taking the members of the top 20 groups voted in the second poll along with ten solo artist, the question posed was(among the 118 artists) 'Who do you think is the best K-Pop artist in the first half of 2012'. JYJ member Jaejoong took home the honor of 1st place with 28.6% of the votes. Jaejoong is known to be accomplished not only in music, but also in acting, directing, planning, and other various areas. He also successfully conducted fan meeting in China, Turkey, and Taipei. Jaejoong's group JYJ has hosted a solo concert in South America for the first time as a K-Pop group in 2012, opening up more doors for K-Pop in the world market.
Total of 1,383,280 votes were taken over the course of this poll.
