Music Video Of AOA's “Short Hair” Exceeds 3 Million Views
AoA released a "silhouette version" of their "Short Hair" music video to celebrate the explosive responses of the original clip that was released.
The original music video for "Short Hair" just surpassed an impressive 3 million views, prompting the girl group to release a sexier, more advanced version just to thank fans for their support.
The new version of the music video was initially filmed in the hopes of being released as a teaser clip, which explains why the snippet was only 25 seconds long. Fans reportedly demanded a full-length clip of the recording soon after the teaser was released.
Fans of the K-pop group have been commenting on the members' "sexiness," which is fully showcased in the recent music video.
AoA, also known as Ace of Angels, officially gained mainstream success with their hit "Miniskirt," which was released earlier this year. The track ranked No. 1 on various Korean music charts, including Bugs, Soribada and Monkey3 the day that it was released.
The seven-member idol group made headlines once again with the popularity of "Short Hair," which ranked No. 8 on Billboard's "K-Pop Music Video Chart," making AoA the only Korean girl group to rank in the top 10, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.
The group, which consists of members Choa, Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Mina, Seoulyun and Chanmi, recently became one of the first recipients of the Gaon Weibo Chart Awards this month, according to the publication Allkpop.
"On the 14th, Gaon Chart formed a strategic alliance with Weibo, which is used by 550 million users in China, creating the 'Gaon Weibo Chart'... in honor of the creation of the Gaon Weibo Chart, we held an awards ceremony for the most popular K-POP artists in China in Q1 of 2014 as determined by the analysis of Weibo data," explained the Korea Music Content Industry Association.
The organization highlighted the success of AoA along with other K-pop groups, stating, "The first winners were EXO, Super Junior and CNBLUE who won the Gaon Weibo Chart group award while Super Junior's Eunhyuk won the individual award. Girl's Day, Block B, and AoA won the Gaon Weibo Social Star Award."
