The two guys not only share the same birth year (1989), but also trained with JYP Entertainment, sharing joys and sorrows until their debut in 2008: Wooyoung with 2PM, Jo Kwon with 2AM. Jo Kwon appeared in 2001 on SBS "Talented Voice Project 99% Challenge" and was selected as an elementary student for an eight-year period of training. Wooyung was the first pick of a JYP audition in 2007.
Wooyoung and Jo Kwon normally share a close friendship. Jo Kwon regularly tweets photos of him and Wooyoung stating, "Proof we're best friends."
Recently Wooyoung revealed in an interview, "Coincidentally Jo Kwon and I are debuting around the same time," and "I was shocked that even our short bang, blonde hair-styles are the same."
Wooyoung added, "Jo Kwon and I are too close so we'll never be rivals, but since we're both going out solo, the competition will be there. We agreed that we just have to empty our hearts and cheer for each other until the end."
