Fans Think BtoB's Sungjae New Music Video Hints He's Dating Red Velvet's Joy
Dating rumors involving BtoB's Yook Sungjae and Red Velvet's Joy spark again after the solo album of the male idol was released on March 2.
The animated music video of his new song, 'Come with the Wind', is said to be dedicated to his fans as well as to his fellow BtoB members. In the music video, the main subject is Yook Sungjae himself, and the story revolves around him as an idol, looking back to his memories with a girl named Melody (BtoB's fandom name). However, fans and netizens speculated that there is a deeper meaning to the video.
Fans then attempted to provide proofs by sharing their thoughts and opinions about the music video through different social media platforms. A fan account on Twitter, [at]THEsexydinamite, said: "What if Sungjae is hinting that he is dating but at the same time assuring Melodies that he will never turn his back on them and the members?"
Eventually, fans began speculating that he is dating Red Velvet's Joy. According to them, while basing solely on the clips of the music video, most of the scenes were inspired from the virtual-reality couple way back in 2015, wherein Sungjae and Joy became an on-screen couple for 'We Got Married', a reality show in which a pair pretends to be lovers and they team up take on tasks to complete challenges. Many actually believe that they were the best play pretend couple to ever grace the show.
The video started with Sungjae waking up, reminiscing his memories with Melody and performing together with "her". However, a particular person stands out among the rest, meeting the gaze of Sungjae. Several theories made by fans and netizens were shared online, and one of them was that despite having millions of fans, every fan has a special place for the male idol's heart.
Some fans think that BtoB's Sungjae seems to hint Melodies that he has finally met his other half. Moreover, fans found great resemblance of the girl in the video with the Red Velvet member.
In addition to this, the 'Bbyu' or 'Sungjoy' shippers uploaded a fanmade video that features pictures of the two while on the show, matching the music video's memories.
One evidence that strengthens this rumor was when a user uploaded a screen-captured photo of Joy, saying, "I would love a sincere present [...], but I wish I would get a song gift." And then, fans think that this new song is Sungjae's gift.
Furthermore, Sungjae recently posted a promotional photo on his Instagram account with the caption, "First Solo Album Title Song. I love you so much lol for melody, <3."
Then, shortly after, Joy posted her photo from a recent pictorial as well and wrote, "I love [#ì—스ì˜ì•„] too."
There is no confirmation whether the two idols were dating though and everything remains a mere speculation. But if this happens to be true, with their huge amount of shippers, it won't be surprising that people are going to root for them.
