'Fantastic Four' Reboot Has X-Men Crossover! Teams Live In The Same Universe But 'Different Domains!' Fans Want It Done!

Despite all the denials, the fans are still hoping for a "Fantastic Four" and "X-Men" Crossover. There have been many interviews and explanations, but the signs point to the inevitable ending: Fox will give the people what they want!

Simon Kinberg, writer of the 'Fantastic Four' reboot explained to The Daily Mirror how the two teams are indeed in the same universe but it's really not that simple to cross them over.

"The challenge is that they essentially live in different universes. In the X-Men world of the movies, we never hear them talk about a famous super team called the Fantastic Four and in the Fantastic Four movie, they are fantastic because they are the only ones of their kind, meaning there aren't other people with super powers on the streets. So given that they exist in these different domains or dimensions there are some inherent challenges."

Yet, nearly a year ago, consultant Mark Millar gave this statement in an interview with SFX:

"Without question I think you have to see some of these guys(X-Men and F4) showing up in each other's movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool - and I expect we will see more of that."

Fox has taken on a conscious effort to fix up the loose ends of their timeline in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past." It should be noted that the sequel to that movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse" is a throwback to the '80s! At the same time, the Fantastic Four reboot is also looking back at the time when the First Family of comics were not even a family, or heroes yet. Is it a coincidence that both movies are set in the past?

The "Fantastic Four" reboot has already wrapped filming, yet the buzz is still relatively low. It should also be noted that while they have an up and coming cast, it would be difficult for them to compete with the big stars of other studios. Fox's confidence in guaranteeing a sequel for the untested reboot franchise suggests that they have more under the sleeve than what they choose to reveal.

The fans want to get it done, and if Marvel can do it, why can't Fox? It's hard to argue with the success of the Marvel formula as it spews blockbuster after blockbuster.

The "Fantastic Four" reboot will be released on June 19, 2015.
