Lee Seung Ki To Attend KCON 2014 To Donate Talents

Actor Lee Seung Ki will be working with Korean company CJ E&M to create educational content to help low-income teenage girls.

CJ E&M will set up a "Girls' Education" booth during the North American Hallyu convention KCON 2014, which will be held on August 9 and 10.

For those who don't know, KCON 2014 is a Hallyu convention featuring Korean dramas, movies, food, fashion, beauty and K-culture contents. The event is expected to bring in K-pop fans from all round the world to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.

Lee Seung Ki has taken part in supporting the booth's vision of promoting quality education for low-income girls. Those who support the cause will be given a special KCON 2014 pin while the 50th donor will be given a free shirt with Lee Seung Ki's autograph.

The proceeds of the event will be donated to NGO WriteGirl, delivering books, learning materials and stationery to the organization.

Aside from supporting great causes within Korea, Lee Seung Ki's acting career has been skyrocketing as of late, creating a platform for the actor and singer to speak for important issues within society.

The actor has recently been cast in the upcoming romance film, "Today's Love," according to Allkpop. Lee will be acting alongside actress Moon Chae Won, who he has worked with previously in the 2009 Korean drama "Brilliant Legacy."

Lee Seung Ki is set to play the role of Junsu who is generally unsuccessful in relationships while Moon Chae Won will be playing the role of an aggressive weather woman and Lee's love interest in the film.

"What drew me in is the everyday story [of the film], and I like this kind of genre. I'm also a fan of director Park Jin Pyo, so I'm happy for this opportunity to work with him. It's my first movie role so I feel pressure, but I will approach it from a learner's point of view," stated Lee.
