Robin Williams Dead At 63: ‘Dead Poets Society’ Actor Dies of ‘Apparent Suicide’ After Battling With Alcoholism And Cocaine Addiction

Robin Williams was found dead in his home at the age of 63.

‘Dead Poets Society’ actor’s cause of death is believed to be suicide “via asphxiation”, according to Variety’s report on the coroner’s office in Tiburon, California.

Robin Williams, a three-time Academy Award nominee, has a history of battling alcoholism and cocaine addiction. His publicist said that “the actor been battling depression of late”, reported Variety.

“This is a tragic and sudden loss,” his publicist Mara Buxbaum said in a statement. “The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Most memorable for his performance in ‘Dead Poets Society’, ‘Patch Adams’ and ‘Good Will Hunting’, Robin Williams handled both comedic and dramatic roles with much subtlety. he won the Academy Awards Best Supporting Actor in 1997.

Many actors have paid tribute to him via social media.
