Big Bang Taeyang Receives Much Attention In Japan And Begins First Solo Tour

Big Bang member Taeyang is heating up the stage in Japan.

The "Rise" hitmaker held the first portion of his "SOL JAPAN TOUR RISE" in Osaka, successfully launching the beginning of his tour.

"I'm so happy we're able to spend time together and communicate through music. Thank you for your continuous support," stated Taeyang during the course of his concert.

Taeyang was reportedly heavily involved in every aspect of preparing for this tour. He contributed to the lighting, video and stage setup as well as band choices to create the perfect concert for his fans.

The idol member's latest album was his first solo album in four years. The successful album ranked No. 2 on the Japan Oricon charts.

As if the album wasn't enough of a success, on the day of his Osaka concert, "Rise" ranked No. 1 on the iTunes Pop album chart.

The title track of the album "Eyes, Nose, Lips" has held the most popular karaoke song title for six consecutive weeks.

Taeyang will continue his tour in Japan, visiting six cities and holding 13 concerts. He's expected to meet with 70,000 fans in the course of his tour.

Taeyang played an important role in the production of his recent solo album. During an interview with the online fashion magazine Hypebest, Taeyang revealed that he has great respect for artists who write their own songs and lyrics, naming Drake as the artist he'd like to collaborate with most.

Despite the success of "Rise," the 26-year-old admitted that he doesn't know what the "next chapter" in his life holds at the moment.

"I feel very happy that many people liked the album, but now, I am getting worried about the next album, and the next chapter of my life. This album is a collection of the time that I spent during the last four years," explained the R&B sensation, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.
