Rookie Group WINNER's Japan Debut Album To Drop September 10 Before 1st Tour

Rookie boy group WINNER is on its way to getting bigger than ever.

The K-pop group's agency, YG Entertainment, revealed that the five-member boy band would be releasing their debut album in Japan on September 10.

The Japanese version of "2014 S/S" will feature the same songs from their debut album in Korea under the same title. The tracks "GO UP" and "Just Another Boy," both from the Mnet program that got them famous, "WHO IS NEXT: WIN", will be included in the album as well.

"GO UP" received positive responses from fans and music critics after it was performed at the "YG Family World Tour 2014 - POWER - in Japan" concert.

All 11 songs on the album will be sung in Japanese. Song Min Ho's "I'M HIM" will be added as a bonus track as well.

WINNER got K-pop fans excited for their debut even before they officially entered the music scene by revealing that they worked together to write and produce their first album.

The boys of WINNER were able to prove themselves as noteworthy singer-songwriters by topping various overseas music charts. Their tracks topped major music charts in Korea as well.

WINNER is set to begin their "WINNER 1st JAPAN TOUR 2014" on September 11. After they wrap up their tour in Japan, they'll be meeting with domestic fans on August 17 through the SBS program "Inkigayo."

WINNER is the first boy group to debut under YG Entertainment after Big Bang. Since their debut, WINNER has made it clear that they're following in the successful footsteps of their seniors with their own musical tastes.

"Rather than saying there's one thing that's a whole lot better than our seniors, I'd like to say that Big Bang is a group that has hip hop as its foundation, but it also tried all genres and a variety of styles.  It's hard to find something we can hastily say is different [from them]," explained WINNER's leader Kang Seung Yoon, according to SBS.com.

Kang added, "More than anything, in order to do music that suits our name as WINNER, we think we will be able to become WINNER if we show our honest and unique music rather than particularly thinking about trying to do things differently from Bigbang's music."
