Flashback Friday: Lala The Pet Penguin

This video is over four years old but lately, a lot of cute pet videos have been popping up that we thought to bring back the original and the cutest of them all -- Lala the pet penguin. He was rescued by the Nishimoto family in Japan when he was accidentally caught in a fisherman's line. They tried to return him to the water after he was nursed back but he refused to leave so the family decided to adopt him. Everyday, Lala would walk into town by himself with a backpack and collect fish from the local fish market. Nobody knows what happened to Lala after all these years (he was already over 10 years old when this video was taken). Some suggest that he might have already passed away due to old age but at the time of this video, the Nishimoto family was quoted saying "If he dies, I will not stuff him. I'll bury him here in the neighbourhood. I could not bear to see Lala stuffed. We are proud to be Lala's parents. Except once or twice during mating season when he wanted to mate with me."
