‘Into The Woods’ Spoilers! Director Rob Marshall Reveals Changes In Movie Script, Musical Songs And Meryl Streep Singing: Disney Movie Release Date Set To Christmas Day

‘Into the Woods’ spoilers! Director Rob Marshall talked all about the changes in movie script, musical songs and the Meryl Streep singing that was cut from the Disney Movie! What a way to promote the movie! With Stephen Sondheim, Rob Marshall added to the revealed changes that the ‘Into the Woods’ fans now know about the movie musical. ‘Into the Woods’ release date is Christmas Day 2014.

In an interview with EW.com, directo Rob Marshall revealed a few choice changes about the musical movie that only the real fans of ‘Into the Woods’ will appreciate.

“Ever After," the first act finale song that “ties all the fairytale threads together in a momentary happy ending” according to Playbill, will only be heard in an instrumental version in the Disney film.

Rob Marshall revealed that "The plot of the musical's second act has also been condensed for screen time”. Now that's a bad spoiler.

The song ‘Rainbows’, which was “penned for an earlier screen treatment of Into the Woods and had been long thought to be part of the upcoming Disney version” (Playbill), is not part of Lapine's screenplay, according to Marshall.

‘Into the Woods’ movie will introduce several character flashbacks, not seen in the stage version. What?!

And as we all know, the song that Stephen Sondheim wrote especially for Meryl Streep to sing in ‘Into the Woods’ has been cut from the movie. To reassure the fans, Rob Marshall said that Meryl Streep singing was "beautiful and spectacular," but stated that the film was stronger without the added piece.

Earlier last month, the spoiler about Rapunzel's death being altered and the removal of the affair between Cinderella's Prince and the Baker's Wife as well as the song ‘Any Moment’, made the fans very angry.

However, in the interview with EW, the director confirmed that, "All of those things are in the film. 'Any Moment' is in the film…Rapunzel’s end is still pretty dark, it’s just a different kind of dark, and it’s just as harrowing, and just as sad."
