Idol group SHINee's youngest member Taemin's solo career has officially launched.

The idol member has already topped iTunes charts overseas with his recent solo album titled "ACE."

The singer's first mini-album was seen ranking No. 1 on iTunes charts in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Taemin was also seen ranking at No. 2 in Japan and Indonesia and No. 3 in Singapore.

The album also ranked at No. 4 in Thailand, making it in the "Top 10" in a total of eight countries.

Taemin was also seen ranking high on the iTunes Pop Album Chart in several different countries. "ACE" ranked No. 2 in Peru, No. 4 in Finland, No. 9 in Mexico and No. 17 in the U.S.

The album topped various major music charts in Korea as well.

Aside from wanting to release new material for his fans, Taemin had stated during a recent interview with the music program "Music Bank" that he wanted to show a new side to himself and "shed his innocent, boy-next-door image."

Taemin's recent album includes a total of six tracks that show a mix of only the best versions of the young idol member. The SHINee member worked with other famous artists including Teddy Riley, The Underdogs and Thomas Troelsen to create his latest album.

The singer began his comeback performances on August 20 through the MBC program "Show! Champion."

Taemin has also started promotions for "ACE." The artist made an appearance at the August 20 episode of the KBS radio program "Lee So Ra's Music Plaza," where Taemin revealed that if he had an older sister, he would be rather protective over her, according to Allkpop.

"If I had an older sister, I don't think I would introduce her to the SHINee members. I think I would get jealous if my older sister met somebody. She's my older sister, so I don't think I would like it if she showed interest in someone else," stated Taemin.
