Another Paparazzi Lawsuit For Justin Bieber: Bodyguard Charged With Assault He Ordered

It looks like Justin Bieber is about to find himself in court once again. He is being sued by a photographer, Aja Oxman who alleges the Canadian singer ordered a bodyguard to assault him and destroy his camera, after the paparazzo snapped a picture of Bieber jumping off a cliff in Kauai last November. His bodyguard, Dwayne Patterson was arrested for assault.

According to Oxman’s lawsuit, after he snapped a photo of the cliff jump, Bieber ordered Patterson to “go get his memory card and do whatever you have to do to get that card.” Patterson allegedly tracked Oxman down, grabbed him in a chokehold, lifted him, and slammed him into the hood of a car. Oxman says in his claim that Bieber watched and “enjoyed the beating,” which continued until another photographer began filming the altercation on his cellphone. Oxman alleges that Patterson then said, “You think I’m that stupid to get caught by one of your little phone camera’s?” before he and Bieber destroyed the photographer’s camera, and took his memory card and keys. Patterson was booked, and eventually convicted for third degree assault and fourth degree criminal property damage.

This is not Bieber’s first run in with the law regarding excessive force by a bodyguard. In May, it was reported that there is another lawsuit in process over allegations of Patterson assaulting another paparazzo. Photographer Michael Munoz claims that Patterson chased him into a Subway restaurant after he snapped a picture of Bieber. Munoz alleges that Patterson kicked and punched him attempting to forcibly take the memory card from his camera. Bieber has also been arrested, and faced criminal charges for a past DUI, and a vandalism incident in which he threw eggs at a neighbor’s house. There has been no comment from Bieber or his representatives on the latest lawsuit.
