Al Roker Slams Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ Music Video: ‘Today Show' Host Criticizes Rap Diva’s Raunchy Single, Suggests She Feels Threatened By Iggy Azalea

Nicki Minaj's newest single has left some members of NBC's "Today Show" shocked. In a Thursday morning segment, longtime-host Al Roker, expressed his vehement distaste for the rap star's music video to her song "Anaconda."

Roker even went on to suggest that the scandalous video is the result of a certain Australian rapper stepping on Minajesty's "turf."

"It's vile," Roker said on the "Today Show," cringing as he and his fellow co-hosts watched a clip of Minaj's "Anaconda" video.

"She's twerking, she's gyrating," he continued.

Roker, who explained that his children alerted him to the video, could hardly hold back his aversion to the visuals and lyrics of "Anaconda."

As the hosts began to analyze the video, Roker delivered a theory on what he believes might really be the intent behind Minaj's single.

"It almost seems like Nicki Minaj has gotten desperate and it feels like she needs to do something to get her crown back," said Roker. He goes on to suggest that Minaj may feel threatened by other artists like Iggy Azalea who may be "honing in on her turf."

Willie Geist, seemingly less surprised than any of his cohorts, chimed in. "It's kind of her look though," he suggests, adding, "It's not new for her."

"She's so talented. She does not need to do that," said co-host Natalie Morales

The fourth co-host at the table, Tamron Hall, looked visibly uncomfortable during the conversation. She chose to avoid comment on the issue, her reasoning for doing so also a mystery.

Despite its explicit nature, the "Anaconda" music video hit a record 19.6 million views on Vevo in 24 hours. Minaj posted her excitement for fans' support on her Twitter page.

Minaj has yet to comment on Roker's criticism, but the songstress did post a link to a Good Morning America interview in which she explained the meaning behind "Anaconda."

Could this be Minaj's indirect response to Al?
