Katie Holmes And Suri Leaving New York For California? Star of 'The Giver' Reportedly Buys Six-Bedroom House In Kardashian Neighborhood Of Calabasas

It's "bye-bye" New York for Katie Holmes. And "hello" California! The actress reportedly bought a six-bedroom, six-bathroom home in The Oaks community in Calabasas, California for $3.795 million.

And it appears that Holmes will have a quite a few celebrity neighbors, including the Kardashians clan.

According to the Daily Mail, the star of the upcoming film "The Giver" shed her three-bedroom apartment in Chelsea in order to move to the west coast with daughter Suri Cruise.

The publication reports that the house is situated on a .48 lot at the end of a cul-de-sac. In addition to "perfectly manicured lawns" and "sparkling pool," the home is allegedly decked out with "gorgeous dark distressed hardwood floors" and windows that provide lots of natural light.

The luxurious house is also reported to be quite "cosy."

TMZ reports that other residents of The Oaks community where Holmes will be living are Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Katherine Jackson, Toni Braxton, Romeo, and Mitch Richmond.

According to TMZ's source, the "Dawson's Creek" star is making the move in order to boost her acting career and to provide more space for Suri to grow up.

While some speculated that the lack of acting roles during Holmes' five-year marriage to Tom Cruise may have been the fault of her ex-husband, the actress has denied that claim.

35-year-old Holmes recently told DuJour magazine that her ex-husband had nothing to do with the slowed pace of her acting career.

"It's the life of an actor," Holmes told the magazine. "We don't really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity."

It looks like Holmes' "dry spell" may be over, however, with her new digs just down the down the street from Tinseltown.
