Selena Gomez's Anti-Bullying Message On Instagram: Singer Admits She Was Not Popular Growing Up As She Urges Others To Make Friends With Everyone!

Selena Gomez has posted a touching anti-bullying message on her Instagram account on August 23.

Selena Gomez admitted that she was not popular during her school days, and it was having a cousin on a cheerleading team that prevented her from being bullied by others.

As the summer holidays will about to end and the classes will start soon, Selena posted a message to her Instagram account to remind her fans to do action on anti-bullying.

"Special request to all you kids returning to school in August: If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most 'in' clothes - PLEASE step up."

"Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone's life. Parents and grandparents should re-post this."

In an article of The Malay Mail Online in an interview by the Disney Channel way back in 2012, Selena admitted that she had a rough day in school.

"I was never the popular kid at school," Selena said.

"I had two friends, but I just sat at the back of the room and got on with my work," Selena added.
