Girls' Day Learns The Meaning Of ‘Living As A Group’ In Thailand

Idol group Girls' Day is about more than releasing addictive music.

The girl group recently returned from participating in extensive volunteer work in Thailand from August 17 to 21, according to Girl's Day's agency, Dream Tea Entertainment.

"We wanted to do as much as we could during our short period in Thailand because this is our second year of volunteer work in the country. We were happy to be able to donate the proceeds from our recent concert to the children," stated Girl's Day.

The members added, "Through our recent volunteer work, we learned the meaning of 'living as a group' and helping each other through difficult times, which makes our experience all the more precious."

Girl's Day held their first concert with the help of the well-known international children's association Plan Korea on July 13. The K-pop group later donated the money made from the concert to help with the birth registration of children in Thailand, according to the Korean publication Naver.

The four-members also met with four girls who have been unable to get birth registration and assisted them and their families with the process so they can finally attend school.

Girl's Day visited Thailand for volunteer work back in August 2013 as well along with Plan Korea. The artists made sure to provide as much joy as possible this time, even holding surprise birthday parties for the children who didn't know when their birthdays were because they didn't have birth registration.

Along with their incredible volunteer work overseas, Girl's Day made headlines this summer with the release of their sexy single, Darling.

The song and music video were featured on an article published by Billboard magazine. The girls were recognized for their perfect mix of sweet and sexy in both the lyrics and concept of their three-minute clip.

"The video stays consistent with the song with the girls donning bright dresses and swimsuits in a slew of summery scenes. The GsD gals get soapy in a car wash, sip cocktails by the pool and bake rainbow-colored treats while serving countless winks, smiles and kissy faces for the camera," wrote the music magazine.
