Joan Rivers Condition: 'Fashion Police' Host On Life Support, Family Must Make Decision In Next Couple Days

Things may have just taken a very serious turn for Joan Rivers, who was rushed to the hospital this week after she stopped breathing during throat surgery. Reports have surfaced that the comedian is now on life support, and her family must decide in the next couple of days whether to keep her hooked up or not. They are reportedly still hopeful that she will take a turn for the better.

Rivers' rapid decline began Thursday, when she was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital from a surgical clinic after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest. The star was put into a medically induced coma, which at the time doctors expected to bring her out of sometime over the weekend. On Friday, daughter Melissa described the comedy icon's condition as "serious," saying that she was "resting comfortably."

Rivers has received an outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow celebrities since this episode began.  Meanwhile Melissa has been using her mother's Facebook page as a platform to communicate on star's condition and thank well-wishers for their thoughts and  prayers. On Friday she wrote; "My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers we have received from around the world. Her condition remains serious, but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers." No confirmation yet from the junior Rivers on the latest news.
