Solo artist BoA is topping music charts immediately after returning to the music industry with a full album after a four year and seven month hiatus.

The 27-year-old's new album, titled "Who's Back?," ranked No. 4 on the Oricon Music Chart in Japan after its release yesterday, according to the Korean publication Osen Entertainment.

BoA teased fans a day before her album was to be released by posting a picture of the album cover on her Instagram account.  

"'Who's Back?' is finally in my hands. Album will drop on the 3rd," BoA wrote on her social media account along with the sultry album cover on September 2, according to the Korean publication Tenasia.

BoA's newest Japanese album comes after the success of her 2010 album "Identity."

"Who's Back?" has a total of 14 tracks, including the songs "Only One," "Fun," "First Time," "Call My Name" and more. BoA had previously released her single "Masayume Chasing" in Japan as well, ranking No. 8 on the Daily Singles Chart the day it dropped.

In celebration of the release of "Who's Back?," BoA will be holding a tour that will begin on September 6 and 7 at the NHK Hall in Tokyo. This will be BoA's first tour in four years.

BoA debuted back in 2000 and has made a name for herself as one of Korea's top idol stars. BoA's ability to speak Japanese, English and Mandarin has contributed to her international success.

Despite her early success, BoA's life in the entertainment industry as a teenager didn't come without hardships.

"BoA debuted an at early age and grew out her hair [while doing entertainment activities]. One day, the seniors dragged her to the bathroom and pulled at her hair, asking her why she grew out her hair," explained BoA's mother Sung Young Ja during an appearance the Korean program Good Morning.

She continued, "BoA had a very hard time whenever stuff like that happened. However, the principal said, 'BoA is active as a celebrity, so please understand. Fortunately, the love and care around BoA gave her strength."
