Nicki Minaj's dancer Genise Ruidiaz finally spoke about the incident where she got bitten by a snake while rehearsing for their performance of "Anaconda" for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 25-year-old Nicki Minaj dancer and contortionist had reportedly rehearsed with the snake named Rocky before it bit her.

"This was definitely my first time [performing with an animal], but I thought - when are you ever going to have this experience?" said Ruidiaz on an interview with MTV. "When are you going to have a snake wrapped around you, while doing some of your contortion moves?"

When asked about her comfort level with dancing with a snake on her shoulders, Ruidiaz was quick to answer that she was happy about the experience. "The feeling of having this creature - this reptile that is all muscle - work his way around my body was insane. I was so happy I did it, it was an incredible feeling."

But things went awry on the third day of their rehearsal. Ruidiaz recalled the incident and said "He was gripping me the way he was supposed to, but I felt like he was getting tired and didn't want to hold on much."

"The trainers told me the only reason a snake would attack is if they felt like they were at harm, so I tried to readjust to make sure that he felt safe on me," the dancer continued. "But right when I did one trick, I guess he must've felt I wasn't holding onto him, so he went ahead and took a nice little bit out of my left arm."

When asked about how she reacted when the snake bit her, Nicki Minaj's dancer Genise Ruidiaz, whose credits include performances with Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Diddy and Marc Anthony, said: "I stood still. I went into complete shock ... He definitely had his mouth around my arm for a good 45 seconds, but to me it felt like an hour."

Nicki Minaj's dancer Genise Ruidiaz was reportedly rushed immediately to a hospital to get her bite treated and was well enough to have performed on the day of the VMAs.
