Could Orlando Bloom be returning to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise for the fifth installment, "Dead Men Tell No Tales"? Perhaps.

The Daily Mail reports that the British star recently told fans at Oz Comic-Con in Brisbane, Australia that he is in talks to join Johnny Depp on the big screen and reprise his role as Will Turner.

"There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it," revealed Bloom during a panel discussion at Oz Comic-Con.

Bloom starred as good guy-turned-pirate Will Turner in the first three installments of the blockbuster Disney franchise, which helped make the actor a household name.  

"That whole experience working with Johnny [Depp] and Gore [Verbinski] really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity to be in the first Pirates was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift."

Bloom's character, as well as his onscreen love Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, were last seen at the end of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." The pair did not return for the fourth film, "On Stranger Tides," which was notably less successful at the box office than the previous three.

If Bloom signs on for a fifth "Pirates," could that mean Knightley may rejoin the cast as well?

We'll just have to wait and see.

As for Bloom, it was also just announced that he will star opposite Michael Douglas and Naomi Rapace in an upcoming thriller entitled, "Unlocked. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will center on a CIA interrogator who mistakenly provides information to a terrorist group that is planning a biological warfare attack in London.
