◆ Having finished “ICON ZeppTour 2014 ICONIC OH! DISCO”, please share your reflection and anything impressive.

No Min Woo: I am still lingering on the memory for a long time. It still burns in my heart. It was a performance where I felt “I’m alive!” The patients (*No Min Woo calls his fans “patients”) also got better at chorus and performance, which makes me happy. I think that a live concert is where, not only my one-man performance, but the audience needs to breathe together. This time, I think it was a good lesson for everyone.

◆ Among the costumes at the live concert, the set list, or in-between video clips, please share stories, like, “Actually there was a hidden story!” or “There was such an episode in the production process!”

No Min Woo: Actually there were many mistakes. Those situations were so funny, and the moment I thought “What am I doing? What am I saying?” then it became a mistake. (Laughter)

◆ Many patients (fans) joined the live concert with cosplay of “maids.” Is there any other cosplay style which No Min Woo is focused on than maids?

No Min Woo: Maids are so good. (Laughter) I feel like I become a master. Next time, it would be interesting to have nurses’ costumes.

◆ When we took the gift Cheki (a Polaroid camera) photos for readers at the interview, you had a perfect understanding of the photo-shoot posture. Please share the point of “a wonderful Cheki photo-shoot.”

No Min Woo: Instead of thinking how to look perfect, I think about how to pose so that the receiver will be happy. So I always want to write a message on the spot. (To read more → Go to No Min Woo (2))

◆Regarding Korean drama “The greatest marriage”, which will premiere in September, what kind of person is No Min Woo-starred Park Dae Young? Are there common points with No Min Woo?

No Min Woo: Park Tae Young is a reporter at a publisher, and also an author who writes books on good restaurants. He voluntarily quit a first-class university, and writes books as he goes around visiting restaurants – an abnormal character. The common point with me would be the free soul. If I want to kiss someone, I would run straight toward the person I love. We are similar in that when we want something we go for it.

◆ It’s a role as a reporter. No Min Woo is usually at the side of being interviewed. Was there anything you learned from being the interviewer?

No Min Woo: I realized I need to be sharp and cannot miss any moment or any word. In an interview, if the other person answers only a little bit, the interview becomes tough. And also the reporter needs to consider what to do at a certain situation. I realized it was a very difficult work. So recently it became my habit to watch the movement of the speaker’s mouth.

◆For No Min Woo, what kind of marriage is “the greatest marriage”?
No Min Woo: If you can tie the knot with someone who you love so crazily that you don’t need anything else, isn’t that the greatest marriage? These days, with monetary and occupational concerns… some people consider marriage while forgetting its essence. It is a sad reality. “The greatest marriage” is a drama that expresses that.

◆ You were also a part of the drama’s OST. When you made the songs, what kind of scene did you imagine? You play both piano and guitar, but which instrument do you use when you compose? Please share your style of composition.

No Min Woo: This time, composition was done mainly with the classic guitar. The genre for this drama’s music is something I wanted to do from before. The melody is lonely and sexy. For me, mostly the melodies come to my mind while in the car to the site or while reading the script. I would mostly record at the spot and monitor while repeatedly listening to it. Then when I get home I would make it properly and go into actual recording in the studio.

◆ What is your plan for future works in Japan?

No Min Woo: I want to create albums and star in Japanese dramas. I am also concerned as to how to make No Min Woo and ICON known to many Japanese people. What is the best method? (Laughter)
