Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov may have been known before as a couple that may be engaged, but with their recent losses at US Open, they are choosing to spend some time apart. Maria Sharapova posted a picture of herself on her Twitter saying that she was spending the weekend in “solitude” while Grigor Dimitrov posted a picture of himself on Instagram saying that he wanted to “focus on the big picture”. Is the rumored engaged couple hinting at a separation?

Maria Sharapova, 27 and Grigor Dimitrov, 23, both flunked out of this year’s US Open at 4th round. Maria Sharapova lost to the 2014 finalist Caroline Wozniacki and Grigor Dimitrov lost against the Frenchman Gael Monfils.

The allegedly engaged couple posted many fun pictures of their dating life on Twitter and Instagram earlier this year, but as they failed to perform well at Wimbledon, Rogers Cup and the US Open, they’ve gotten more recluse in their social media activity.

Tennis World also reported that the Russian and the Bulgarian have stopped following each other on Twitter, spurring breakup rumors left and right.

And it it looks like that their most recent posts on Instagram and Twitter show that they indeed are spending some time apart.

Maria Sharapova wrote on her Twitter that she has spent alone time post US Open this year. Looks like she didn’t turn to Grigor for consolation.

Grigor also did the same. He posted a forlorn picture on his Instagram with a caption, “Gotta focus on the big picture!”
