Miley Cyrus's iHeartRadio Festival performance in Australia will not happen as the launch of the musical event was cancelled.

The news of Miley Cyrus's iHeartRadio Festival involvement had previously been confirmed by the pop superstar to Australia's "KIIS 1065" radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O, but the inaugural fest has been called off.

In a previous report, a representative of the organizers shared their delight in having Cyrus headline the festival. "This has been many months in the planning and we are incredibly grateful for the support of Miley Cyrus," said Paul Dainty.

The festival slated on October 18 at Sydney's Allphones Arena reportedly lacked another headline act, which prompted its organizers to not push through with it.

"Our objective for this iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival was to create the very best experience possible for music lovers, and when this wans't possible, the difficult but necessary decision was made to cancel. This is as a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, due to be announced this week, we have cancelled the event for now," said the festival's promoters Dainty Group.

Miley Cyrus was supposed to headline the iHeartRadio festival was also slated to have performances by Australian pop star Cody Simpson, "X-Factor" Australia judge Redfoo, rapper Miracle, the band At Sunset and DJs the Faders.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald,a spokesperson said that the organizers are still open to the possibility of holding the iHeartRadio festival in Australia in another time.

Ticketholders who paid via credit card will reportedly get refunds automatically, while those who purchased in cash will have to take their tickets back to the ticketing firm of the show.

Internet radio service iHeartRadio was launched in Australia in 2013 and was the first time the Internet radio branched out and took its services overseas.

While Miley Cyrus's iHeartRadio Festival performance has been cancelled, the Australian leg of her "Bangerz" tour will still push through.
