OK Go: 'Apple Ripped Us Off!'; Company's 'Perspective' Video Imitated Indie Rock Band's 'The Writing's On The Wall'? [WATCH]

Well, that's awkward. Indie rock band OK Go claims Apple ripped off their video concept for "The Writing's On The Wall" and used it for its "Perspective" video, which is aimed at people "who have always seen things differently."

And the band's accusations appear to not come unfounded. In an interview with BusinessWeek, Andy Gershon, the band's manager said that OK Go and Apple met earlier this year for a possible collaboration. He said "the band met with Apple in April to pitch that visual concept as a potential video collaboration."

Apple reportedly declined the offer so the band decided to shoot on their own. The band's video was posted on YouTube in July and has garnered more than 10 million views since.

Gershon added that Apple then went on to hire the same production company and director who worked on the band's video for the one the company used in their launch.

Gershon also shared that they are looking to take legal actions regarding the matter.

The incident between OK Go and Apple is not the first time the mega company dealt with accusations of imitation.

In July, Run The Jewels (composed of Killer Mike and EI-P) accused the company of immitating their logo for its "Stickers" campaign.

In 2005, the company received flak for their iPod ads that featured dancing silhouettes because they bore a very close resemblance to a commercial for Lugz boots.

In 2006, the band Postal Service shared their dismay over Apple's commercial which was very similar to their video for "Such Great Heights." According to a report on MTV, it was also a case of the company hiring the director of the band's music video for their commercial.

The next year, photographs taken by Louis Psihoyos were reportedly used by Apple on its ads without purchasing the rights to use them.

Apple has not given a comment about the OK Go issue.
