Iconic Korean soul singer Insooni is headed to the US this fall!

Also known as the 'Queen of Soul' in South Korea, Insooni has more than 35 years of singing experience under her belt. Releasing a total of 19 albums to date, Insooni is regarded as one of the successful soul and R&B musicians in South Korea.

Insooni got her start in the music industry back in 1978 with the 'Hee Sisters' and has since only continued to gain popularity with her powerful vocal abilities.

Along with her various R&B and Soul hits, Insooni has also released a cover album of popular English Christian songs. These songs were translated into Korean for the album and released back in 2006. Some of the songs on the album were Korean editions of "Amazing Grace" and "My Friend" which featured Jo PD.

There are certain idols that come to mind when we think of powerhouse vocals, such as 2NE1's Park Bom, JYJ's Junsu, and EXO's Chen, to name a few; however, Insooni can proudly boast her soulful voice as it carries miles wide and cities long. A unique aspect about Insooni's voice that sets her apart from many other singers is her throaty tone. When she sings it is easy to identify her skillful and emotional keys and she is perhaps more comparable to American soul singer Nina Simone.

One of Insooni's more well-known songs is her hit track, "A Goose's Dream". The song became a great success for its meaningful lyrics that reached the hearts of millions. "A Goose's Dream" speaks of having a dream and going forth to pursue it no matter what others may have to say about it.

Since the release of the song, it has been used in the soundtrack for the popular drama "Beethoven's Virus" and later on the wildly successful OST for "Dream High." The song has also been covered multiple times by idols and ballad singers alike including IU, A-pink's Eunji, SISTAR's Hyorin, and even Psy.

Insooni's 'Soul Concert' will take place at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas, November 9 at 6:30pm.
