Kim Kyu Jong entered the army with support from fellow SS501 members.

On July 23, SS501 Kim Kyu Jong held a short interview with reporters in front of the army base before going in.

Kim Kyu Jong, who is 25 years old, is relatively young compared to other celebrities when they enter the army. Most male celebrities go to the army in their early 30s.

Kim Kyu Jong's agency, B2M Entertainment said, "We thought it would be right for him to go now and show better sides of him after he comes back. This was what Kim Kyu Jong wanted and we didn't stop him. Of course he could have delayed it, but he wanted to go early and meet his fans as a better, manlier man."

Kim Kyu Jong, who appeared at the army base in a white shirt and jeans, could not hold in his happiness at the sight of hundreds of fans who came to meet him despite the hot weather.

Kim Kyu Jong said, "Time flies. It's already been 7 years since I met my fans. I think the next 2 years will fly by like that too."

On this day, SS501's Kim Hyung Joon and Huh Yeong Seng came to send him off. Kim Kyu Jong said, "They came all the way here to support me. I heard it feels weird to send off a member. I think they're more sad than I am."

Kim Kyu Jong told the fans that will be waiting for him for 2 years, "Thank you so much for coming. I will safely return. The other members will be filling my empty spot. Please keep supporting us."
