Are Avril Lavigne and Char Kroeger headed for splitsville? The rock star couple have only been married for fourteen months but reports have begun to circulate that they may be on the brink of divorce.

"It's over. He has been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing," a source told Us Weekly, referring to Nickelback frontman Kroeger.

The musical pair wed in the south of France in July 2013, making their marriage just over a year old. The couple's relationship has been on an accelerated time-scale, however. Kroeger, 39, allegedly proposed to Lavigne, 29, after just one month of dating.

In addition to rumors that Kroeger has announced the couple's alleged divorce plans to friends, an insider claims that the "Rockstar" crooner is not always easy to get along with.

"Chad is just a complete jerk in the way he talks to her, and the way he talks to people in general," an insider told the mag. "A lot of her friends don't like him."

Also fueling speculation of a split is Lavigne's Twitter account, which now seems to be missing a rather noticeable photo of the huge emerald-cut diamond ring Kroeger surprised her with on their first wedding anniversary in July.

"I still can't believe my 1 year anniversary gift. 17 carat emerald cut. Wow. I love my hubby," Lavigne captioned the photo, which has now vanished from her Twitter page.  

So is the diamond disappearance a clear clue that the singers are indeed splitting up? We'll see.

Lavigne was previously married to "Sum 41" singer Deryck Whibley. The couple divorced in 2010 after four years of marriage.
