Five Reasons To Watch 'My Lovely Girl'

“My Lovely Girl” also known as “She's So Lovable” premiered on September 17. “My Lovely Girl” stars Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) opposite f(x) member Krystal Jung, as two people who find solace in one another following a tragic death. “My Lovely Girl” marks the K-Drama return of Rain, following his military service.

Rain is Lee Hyun Wook, a talented music producer, who abandons his career after his girlfriend dies in an automobile accident. Krystal portrays Yoon Se Na, a struggling and hapless musician.

Hyun Wook begins to seek out Se Na, after receiving a mysterious phone call from her, on the phone of her deceased sister. Se Na and Hyun Wook initially struggle with one another, due to clashing personalities. Se Na diligently works, but fails to maintain steady employment. By contrast, Hyun Wook exudes an aura of over privilege.

Upon discovering the true identity and musical talent of Se Na, Hyun Wook returns to the music industry, becoming the president of ANA Entertainment.

The entertainment agency becomes the backdrop for the drama, which explains the amount of K-Pop idols within the cast. INFINITE's L and Hoya are included in the cast, as well as Bestie's Haeryung, T-ARA's Dani. Alex Chu of the electropop group Clazziquai helps to round out the musical cast.

Here are six reasons to watch “My Lovely Girl.”

1. INFINITE members Hoya and L are part of the idol group Infinite Power.

INFINITE's Hoya (Lee Ho Won) returns to K-Drama, following his acclaimed role in “Answer Me 1997.”

Hoya is Kang Rae Hoon, the leader of the fictitious group Infinite Power. L (Kim Myung Soo) is Shi Woo, an arrogantly popular member of Infinite Power. Shi Woo and Rae Hoon maintain a power struggle, when they are not performing.

The lineup of Infinite Power is rounded out by Lee Dae Yeol, whose brother is INFINITE's Sung Yeol, and Choi Sung Yoon.

2. Krystal has previously been in supporting roles but shines as the leading lady.

“My Lovely Girl” showcases the acting and musical skills of Krystal. Her roles as Lee Bo Na in the 2013 drama “The Heirs” provided Krystal with the opportunity to extend past the ice queen image she cultivated for f(x), gaining praise from audiences.

3. Rain is developing into an action movie star, but “My Lovely Girl” highlights talents in K-Drama.

Rain may have made his mark in Hollywood with films like “Speed Racer” and “Ninja Assassin.” However, his return to K-Drama allows audiences to see his softer side.

4. Dal Bong is an adorable K-Drama dog.

Hyun Wook (Rain) and Se Na (Krystal) are initially brought together by Dal Bong. Although, Se Na makes a few very serious mistakes in her interactions with Dal Bong, he is a forgiving dog. The love that Dal Bong shows for Se Na helps to bridge her relationship with Hyun Wook.

5. L and Krystal are a hilarious on-screen pair.

The relationship between Se Na and Hyun Wook is complicated, while Shi Woo (L) initially views Se Na as a nuisance. Se Na and Shi Woo have the potential to be comic relief, in the midst of an otherwise heavy drama.

“My Lovely Girl” airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the 10:00 KST time slot.

English streaming for “My Lovely Girl” which is also translated as “She's So Lovable” can be found on Viki and DramaFever.
