New "Scandal" season 4 spoilers reveal that "Lost" actress Sonya Walger will play Olivia Pope's old friend and new client, confirming that Olivia will return to DC in "Scandal" season 4.

TVLine reports a new spoiler: "Rumor has it ["Lost" actress Sonya Walger] is an old friend (and new client) of Liv's."

The last we saw of Olivia Pope was the back of her, as she ran away from DC with Jake. However, TVLine reports that "Olivia eventually returns to D.C. to resume fixing and handling everyone's messes, but it won't be business as usual."

"Every season we try to tell this show in a different way, and we're doing that again this season," series creator Shonda Rhimes said. "There is an organizing principle that brings us back, in a weird way, to more of where we were at the very beginning of the [series]."

Rhimes hints that Season 4 will see "the emergence of a very different kind of Mellie, who I kind love almost more than I love 'Drunk Mellie.'"

"We do see Andrew this season and there is a trajectory for that [relationship]," she added. "But not right away. Mellie's child died and her world blew up - an affair is the last thing on her mind."

Rhimes also confirms that Fitz will learn the truth about Rowan Pope's role in Jerry Jr.'s death during "the first half of the season."

As we previously reported, Joe Morton, who plays Rowan Pope on the ABC series, hinted that his character's daughter Olivia Pope may return to DC sooner than we think!

E! News reports that Rowan Pope got "everything he wanted" in the "Scandal" season 3 finale when Olivia Pope got on a plane with Jake and left DC, meaning he's "back as the B613 boss."

"I think if Olivia returns, he's going to be kind of concerned about that, wondering why she's back and what for and how that's going to work out. I also think what's going to happen is people are going to find out what I did and sparks are going to fly," Morton said.

"Scandal" season 4 returns Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9pm.
